Mosquitos aren’t just annoying, they can carry dieses that may harm your family. Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus have been found throughout Ontario. We offer safe friendly integrated pest management to control and limit the amount of pests in and around your property.
Our Control Plan include season long coverage from Early May to the end of September. Consisting of 5 scheduled visits to your property meaning you can expect to see us roughly every 3 to 5 weeks all summer long. One time applications for special events are also available.
How Does A Mosquito Spray Treatment Work?
Our mosquito spray for backyards normally involves spraying your property and surrounding landscape (shrubs, trees, long grass, under decks and other hot spots) every 3 to 5 weeks (depending on the program you choose, weather, and amount of rainfall we have in Ontario that year).
We have two types of mosquito treatment options for your property depending on your preference and treatment area.
Our most popular option is comprised of a synthetic product that is similar to what is produced using the extract of plants and kills mosquitoes, spiders, and ticks on contact. The main ingredient in this product is often used for treatment of things like lice and fleas, and mites. This product also contains a repellent that forms a barrier like defense around your property.
We also offer a a garlic based product that is 100% natural. This product does have a garlic odor for a couple hours when first applied but is typically undetectable to us humans after 4 to 6 hours. It helps control mosquitos for up to 4 weeks before needing to be reapplied. This treatment option is ideal for those near bodies of water or those looking for a greener alternative. We often use a combination of both products to ensure great success.
Mosquito treatments whether they are natural based treatments or synthetic-based treatments are evaluated for safety from Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency. These registered compounds are safe and effective when they are prepared and applied according to their labeled use. Prior to their approval for use, scientific risk-assessments are performed by the PMRA, using all available data. From such assessments, acceptable safe residue levels are established which is often six orders of magnitude—one-millionth—of levels that could be harmful. However, we do recommend that children and pets be kept inside during spraying, and for a minimum of 30 minutes after the application has been completed.
While a one-time treatment is effective in temporarily reducing mosquito populations, monthly treatments are required to continue the extermination cycle.
Mosquitoes tend to rest on the underside of leaf surfaces, in dense plant material such as trees, shrubs, hedges, grasses & under structures like decks, porches, and stairways.
One application will be effective for approximately 30 days. Our plans include a visit every 4 to 5 weeks all season long.
